Recode will host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) discussion on Thursday, May 12, on the tech startup ecosystem in the U.S. that will highlight the latest public funding rounds, startup valuation, and the future of the tech industry.
The AMA is open to the general public.
“We’re not interested in answering questions about the specifics of each round,” the AMA reads.
“What we’re interested in is answering the question: what do you think about these investments and why?”
Recode is the largest and most influential tech media outlet in the world.
The company’s content is cited by a variety of organizations and individuals across the media, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, BuzzFeed, and TechCrunch.
Recode hosts its Ask Me Asaad (AMA), Ask Me Karaoke (AMA #Karaoke) and Ask Me Tech (AMA#Tech) chats on the Recode app.
“Ask me anything” is an Internet-based platform for individuals to ask questions of companies and other entities.
“There’s a big demand for an open and transparent platform for this kind of thing,” Karaoke co-founder Mark Karpeles said in a statement.
“I believe we have something special here.”
Recode previously hosted an AMA with Facebook in January 2017.
The platform, launched in 2018, allows users to ask companies and organizations questions on topics including diversity, privacy, data protection, and more.
Recoding is one of the most influential media platforms in the digital media landscape.
The Recode network includes a full range of podcasts, video, and audio content, including “Recode News,” “The Tech Report,” “Recodes Techcast,” and more, among others.
It also hosts podcasts for both new and existing brands, and hosts the popular podcast “All Things Considered,” which is also streamed on Apple Music and other streaming services.
Recodes chief content officer and CEO Kevin Rose said in his company’s 2017 annual report that the company was “in the process of building a stronger brand, one that has an audience of millions of listeners.”
“As a result, our business model has grown dramatically, and our ability to provide great podcasts to our community has also grown,” Rose wrote.
“This growth has led to the creation of two of the largest podcasts in the history of the podcasting ecosystem, TechCrunch and Recode.
TechCrunch is now the third-most-streamed podcast in the United States and a significant player in the business.
Our team has been working to expand its reach to even more markets and continue to deliver great content to a wider audience.”
