Lubbock man charged with stealing a $40,000 watch
Lubbocks police say a man has been charged with theft of a $20,000 Rolex watch.
Lt.
Robert J. Miller said the Lubbons Police Department responded to a call at 11:45 a.m.
Saturday about a man who said he had stolen a Rolex Daytona with a serial number on it from a store in the city’s downtown area.
Miller said the suspect admitted to stealing the watch, but the department did not identify him because the case is still under investigation.
Lubbock police say they were notified about the case by the local sheriff’s office.
Miller says police were able to find the watch at the scene, but they didn’t identify the owner.
Miller did say the suspect was a former employee at the store.
He’s been employed by the store since December 2016.
The Lubbucks Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft.
